I never drank coffee until I had my second baby. Perhaps it was necessary for my survival at that point? Audrey WAS a particularly challenging newborn. I don’t even know what made me try it or make it part of my morning routine, but now I love it. I don’t drink a lot of it- usually just one cup in the morning with breakfast- but if I DON’T have coffee in the morning? The day is ruined.*
*possibly an exaggeration
The fun part about coffee is that everybody likes something different. Some people are weird like Dan and drink it nearly black with nothing but a splash of milk. Some people are like me and like it with some fun flavored creamer and tons of milk (more of a latte, I guess? I may drink coffee but I’m kind of Coffee-Dumb and never know the right lingo for all the combinations!) Dan and I may have different coffee tastes, but we both love trying new coffee roasts and flavors. We have a bean grinder and a fancy-schmancy single-cup brewer thingie he got through a rewards program at work, so our coffee lives are pretty complete.
Giant Eagle Market District sent me a lovely sampling of their new coffee roasts to try, along with some other goodies. Their new coffee roasts are made with premium grade 100% Arabica beans for a bold, rich flavor.
Hazelnut coffee is one of our favorites. And I tried the Jamaican blend last week and it was delicious! I was a little nervous because it says MEDIUM ROAST and for a girlie-coffee drinker like me, sometimes anything beyond a light roast is too much, but it had the perfect amount of flavor and aroma without making me feel overwhelmed (I get OVERWHELMED by strong coffee! Sorry.) I haven’t tried the Italian Roast yet for just that reason, but I’m sure it’s also delicious if you like a stronger coffee. I’ll leave that one for Dan The Intense Coffee Lover. But next time I’m at the grocery store, I’ll be likely to grab a bag of the light or medium roasts.
As if three bags of yummy coffee wasn’t enough, I was also given a travel coffee mug AND CHOCOLATE. The chocolate is insanely good. We had a nice snuggle-date one night while I watched tv alone in bed. It was glorious.
That chocolate is so good, in fact, that I’m tempted to NOT include it in the gift pack I’m giving away! But I’ll share. I guess. If I HAVE to.
To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment here telling me your favorite way to enjoy coffee. Straight up? Iced? With a crapton of sugar in it? A winner will be chosen at random from the comments on May 14, 2014.
Disclaimer: I was given the products for this post, but my opinions are my own, and I would never recommend a product I wouldn’t purchase with my own money.
