three words: free cookies. giveaway.

I love going out to eat for dinner, mostly because it means no dishes! No cleanup! Wahoo! But at this point in our lives with three small children, it feels like a freaking EXPEDITION to go to a restaurant. The girls are mostly good (sometimes some whining, maybe hissed threatening from us about getting the waitress to bring a high chair for you if you don’t SIT BACK DOWN RIGHT THIS MINUTE PLEASE), but Zach is the big wild card these days. Babies are like that! Full of surprises! Will he scream and fuss or be content to stare at the tv screen behind us while we eat? Will we even be able to finish our meal before we have to pack up and get back in the car because he won’t SHUT UUUUUP?

So it takes something EXTRA special to get us all out the door and willing to brave the public with our kids. Something like… free chocolate chip cookies, perhaps??

free! cookies!

Every Wednesday at Max and Erma’s, you get two (2!!) free chocolate chip cookies with any meal purchase (dine-in only). And they even bring them to you WARM. If there’s one thing the girls and I can get behind, it’s free, delicious, chocolatey cookies, because come on.

But of course, trying to keep two excited girls (okay, three. I was excited too!) content during dinner when they know there are cookies at the end is tricky. But they loved the food (grilled cheese for Maggie, chicken fingers for Audrey) and that occupied them well enough. And me? I had some delicious tortilla soup and a REALLY yummy salad (the Cabo Shrimp Salad with chicken instead!) to keep me company.

cheesy, tortilla-y soup.

waiting patiently for her cookies. kinda.

my salad. delicious.

Okay enough about all that. WHERE ARE THE COOKIES??

free chocolate chip cookie as big as her face? SOLD.

I wasn't quick enough with the camera. There were 6 cookies on the tray.
uh, I wasn’t quick enough with the camera. There WERE 6 cookies on the tray.

picking out the chips, because it makes more mess that way.

And hey! You can go and get some free Wednesday cookies for yourself! I’m giving away four $10 gift cards that can be used at the Max & Erma’s restaurant near you. Just leave a comment on this post and answer this: how do you like your chocolate chip cookies? Warm and gooey from the oven? With a cold glass of milk? Do you like them crunchy? Or maybe served with some vanilla ice cream??! Tell me!

Four winners will be chosen at random from the comments left here. One entry per person. Comments will close and winners will be selected on Saturday, August 3, 2013.

Disclaimer: I was compensated for my time in researching and preparing for this post. But my opinions are my own, and I would never recommend anything I wouldn’t purchase with my own money.

Warm and gooey fresh from the oven. When I bake cookies, my family usually eats as many as they can before they have a chance to cool off completely.

Thanks, Jen – now I’m sitting at my desk dying for some chocolate chip cookies, haha! ;) Warm and gooey is the way to go for sure!! I love that they even brought them to you on an actual cookie tray – really straight from the oven! :)

Fresh out of the oven, of course, but I recently ate a probably 2 week old cookie out of a tupperware container and I didn’t hate it.

Well Jen, every day I say that I am going to have to start that diet but now I have to wait until August 3rd to see if I am a big winner for those cookies :) I love my chocolate chip cookies plump and warm with a tall glass of freezing cold milk. Now I must go search for chocolate ;)

We visited a Max & Erma’s on vacation once and it happened to be free cookie night. It was a very pleasant surprise:) Unfortunately, there aren’t any near us.

Do not and I repeat, DO NOT give me crunchy cookies! :) Mine must be soft/gooey and without any kind of nuts…I’m not at all picky! HA!
