Five Things About Zach At Three Months
1. He has become a super fast nurser. Like, 3-5 minutes per side, done. This continues to throw me for a loop, even though I’m 99% sure that everything is fine and dandy. After failing at breastfeeding spectacularly with Maggie, and then struggling a lot with Audrey at first, then to have it end quite abruptly just past 4 months, I think I’m almost waiting for the other shoe to drop? I am used to Audrey who wanted to eat all the live long day, so these short nursing sessions have me all “WAIT, WHAT? You can’t be done!” But I really do think it’s all going really well. He’s growing great, he’s actually ahead of where the girls were with some milestones, and he’s a happy, happy baby most of the time. So, things are good in the eating department (so good that we have had to work a little bit the past few weeks to get him used to taking a bottle again! Which is HILARIOUS considering how much we worked that first month to get him OFF the bottle and onto the boob. OH, BABIES. SO FICKLE. heh)
2. He loves his sisters. LOVES. Already. It’s fantastic. His favorite thing to do is watch them play. Actually, his favorite thing to do is watch ANYONE do ANYTHING. This includes me cooking dinner. Dan even brought up the high chair from the basement this morning just so Zach could sit at the table with the girls during breakfast. He’s a social little buddy.
3. THIS IS WHERE I WOULD TALK ABOUT HOW HE’S SLEEPING AT NIGHT BUT IN ORDER TO AVOID THE SLEEP JINX, I WILL ACTUALLY SAY NOTHING. (except: PONIES! MOTORCYCLES! ALL THE CANDY!) (Don’t worry, you don’t have to completely hate me. He’s not sleeping through the night or anything. Just… much better than every 90 minutes all night long, OMG.)
OKAY. NOW I FEAR I’VE SAID TOO MUCH. *spits to offset the jinx*
4. So many smiles. So many.
5. His hair is THE BEST.
Having a third baby was probably one of our smarter decisions, you guys.
