snow day!

We got almost 9 inches of snow in less than 8 hours. Tuesday night, the girls and I got home from my parents’ house and it was almost 40 degrees outside. It felt WARM. The ground was clear of snow. But when I woke up at 4:30am and peeked outside, I saw SNOW. EVERYWHERE. It was nuts.

And it's still coming down...

School was cancelled and I didn’t bother trying to get out of the neighborhood to take Audrey to daycare. So we buckled down for a day at home. I still had work to do for a client but thankfully the girls cooperated and I ended up logging about 4 1/2 hours of work time throughout the day! Their reward? Playtime in the snow before dinner! (By then, the sun had come out for a while and started melting everything, so we only had 3-4 inches of snow left once we got out there! But they didn’t care.)

I plopped my pregnant butt in a lawn chair in our driveway (freshly-cleared of snow thanks to a wonderful friend’s husband, since MY husband was enjoying the 80 degree weather in Phoenix on a work trip!) and took some pictures. My mobility is low these days, so some of the shots could have been better at a closer or different angle, but hey. Whatever. SNOW! And I figured I should take advantage of the fact that the girls are FINALLY at a point where they can play together without too much interaction by me. This will be VERY HELPFUL THIS SUMMER when I’m caring for a newborn baby!

So! Heavy! Need! Help!

Then we headed inside for our typical Daddy Is Out Of Town And It’s Just Us Girls dinner: grilled cheese and tomato soup. Perfect!

But, seriously, Weather: this needs to be it. Okay? BRING US SPRING!

All those shots are PRECIOUS! Love them. I’m glad you all got out and they got to have some fun in the snow. With that said, I, too, am ready to be done with it this year. (I’m not usually one to complain about the winter weather, but I’m quite ready for warmth, sunshine, and greenery this year.)
