a break from the grays

It’s been a very long winter. For the past two years, it seems like we had a lot more warm, sunshine-y days that broke up the endless, snowy stretch from December to March. But this year, even though we’ve had a few warm spots, they’ve been damp and rainy and just plain gross. Cabin fever has set in like WHOA. So yesterday when I had a light work day and it was 40 degrees and sunny and the sky was SO BLUE… OUTSIDE WE WENT! (Just Maggie, because Audrey was at daycare.)

It was a lovely way to spend an hour. Then I broke the news that the next day was going to be gray and cold and rainy again. She was less than pleased.

her face when I told her it was going to be cold and rainy tomorrow

Spring, please hurry!

I love solo kid time more and more these days. They’re just such fun people it’s awesome to FOCUS on one.
