So I didn’t get to run the race like I wanted, but you guys, I had a really awesome birthday weekend.
It started on Friday night with a MUCH NEEDED haircut and color.
Saturday morning- my actual birthday- I slept in (until 7:30! I KNOW! HOW SAD THAT I THINK OF THAT AS SLEEPING IN??!) and had a lazy breakfast with the girls and Dan. I even woke up with less snot and coughing than the previous two or three days, SO HOORAY! Then he took the girls to the neighborhood playground and I got the house to myself for like AN HOUR, and I didn’t even have to do any work! Instead, I watched tv. At 10am! It was so extravagant!
I also opened presents. To sum up: I got jewelry. Dan got me this beautiful necklace with the girls’ names and their birthstones.
Maggie got me a singing Taylor Swift card and bunch of necklaces and earrings she picked out at Target. She… did a really good job, actually! She’s more stylish than me. heh.
I spent the afternoon playing XBox while Audrey napped, Maggie was at a neighbor’s house playing, and Dan went to get a haircut. I also had fun watching our new deck being built. (It’s ALMOST done!!)
Totally unrelated to my birthday, but exciting nonetheless- my new stick vacuum was delivered on Friday so I got to use it on my birthday so it was kind of like a birthday present to myself which sounds lame but it’s okay because CLEAN FLOORS QUICKLY AND EASILY OMG.
Saturday night Dan and I were able to sneak away for a bit while my mom watched the girls, and we caught a movie (American Reunion, was funny and gross and silly, perfect!) and then had an amazing dinner that included ridiculously good hummus, a caprese salad, and smoked gouda and cheddar macaroni and cheese with BACON.
I told you I was good at birthdays.
Then creme brulee for dessert, because COME ON.
And then we came home and I fell asleep on the couch before 10pm. Which isn’t really any different than any other night of the year!
Good to know 33 won’t change me TOO much.
