Every year, even though I say I’m not going to, I totally geek out over Christmas cards. I CAN’T HELP IT. They are fun for me. I know some people think it’s lame to send Christmas cards- especially ones with family or baby pictures on them- but you know what? I think they are lovely. I enjoy getting photo cards from people I know! I love getting mail that isn’t a bills or a grocery store flyer, and mail with pretty pictures on it? Even better!
However, I send out a LOT of cards. Our family members alone add up to 50-something people. Then if I include college friends I’d like to keep in touch with… the number usually reaches into the 70s or 80s. That’s… a lotta cards. So they need to be relatively inexpensive for Operation: Christmas Card to happen. Which is why Shutterfly is such a great place to start my shopping. I haven’t started designing this year’s card yet (give me some credit- it’s not even HALLOWEEN yet!), but when I do, I’ll have good stuff to work with. Shutterfly has some really cute designs for Christmas and holiday cards– and if I add in some of the eleventy billion pictures I’ve taken of the girls recently, I should be able to whip up my card design in no time.
(Though, I probably won’t, because I’m ridiculous and spend way to much time trying out different designs. It’s a sickness. Because LOOK HOW CUTE AND PRETTY!)
And, you know, after I’m done with the cards, I may even check out some of the customizable photo gifts for my Christmas shopping. And every year I make a photo calendar to hang on our fridge- if you think I geek out over the Christmas cards, you should see me choosing pictures for the calendar. HA.
