We went to Kennywood last week! Of course I’m just getting around to posting now because we’ve had a whirlwind week with some out of town relatives. Relatives who, luckily for them, got to come with us to Kennywood :)
It was Audrey’s first trip to the park and even though it was a thousand bajillion degrees and she was so hot and overheated in the stroller, she hung in there and did pretty well. She rode the merry-go-round for the first time.
We rode in the bench but Maggie picked out a horse for her trip around and around and around…
Of course, no trip to Kennywood is complete without some Potato Patch Fries. BECAUSE DUDE. SO GOOD.
Maggie had lots of fun on the rides (all except for the Lil Phantom, woo-boy someone is NOT ready for roller coasters!) but I’m pretty sure her favorite part was when she got her face painted. She asked me 5,278 times and finally, finally I said FINE, KID. I didn’t realize just HOW happy it would make her! She loved it and cried the next day when I told her we needed to wash the smudge-y remains off.
There were games played, rides ridden, yummy food eaten.
The only disappointment of the day is that with two kids to wrangle at an amusement park, that means that perhaps, maybe, possibly… some things may be forgotten or overlooked. LIKE FUNNEL CAKES. I was at Kennywood for nine hours and I FORGOT TO GET A FUNNEL CAKE.
Oh well. That just means we’ll have to go back very, very soon.
Many thanks to the people at Kennywood for giving us the opportunity to spend the day at the park. The opinions expressed are based on my own experience and my LOOOOOVE for that place, and no additional compensation was received for this post.
