Kennywood! Ticket! Giveaway!

We didn’t take big vacations when I was a kid. But one thing we did each summer? A trip to Kennywood! My entire gigantic extended family would gather in the pavilion next to the Jackrabbit with our coolers and fried chicken and Doritos (I always remember Doritos) We would eat lunch as fast as we could and then RUN to the nearest ride line to start the day. The Racer! The Kangaroo! The Parachutes! The Log Jammer!

I love them all. Still. Especially the roller coasters. I love roller coasters.

We first took Maggie to Kennywood when she was 15 months old. Even though she could only ride a few things, she had a blast. Of course we had to take a picture with Kenny. And play some games.

picture with Kenny the Kangaroo

srsly.

(BABY MAGGIE OMG.)

I haven’t been on any Big People Rides in two years. Last year when we went to Kennywood, I was approximately 7,289 months pregnant. It was the merry-go-round, the train, and funnel cakes for me (I was okay with that last part. WOO!) So needless to say, I am VERY MUCH looking forward to our trip to the park this year. It’s like I’m 9 years old again, dancing in my chair at the breakfast table, counting the minutes till we can leave and count the Kennywood signs on the drive. SKY ROCKET, HERE I COME!

Because I love that place so much, I am thrilled to be able to give one of you a family 4-pack of tickets to Kennywood! All you have to do is leave a comment telling me your favorite ride at the park- or, if you’ve never been (TRAVESTY!), your favorite type of amusement park ride (roller coasters? spinny, make-you-puke rides? dark, spooky rides?) I’ll be picking a random winner from the comments on Monday, July 18! Good luck!

My favorite ride is and has always been the racers! What is not to like…its a coaster and you get competition all in one ;)
I have so many memories from Kennywood…from loosing my shoes on the swing to my Dad following behind (way behind!) so that I could be a big kid with friends and go out solo! haha

We have not been to Kennywood since we just moved over this way from the Poconos a few years ago. We haven’t had the funding to go. We are a family of four. My son and I love roller coasters. My daughter loves the merry go round. My hubby likes anything low to the ground. LOL TY!

Whoo-Boy. I am now old and any ride that goes in circles makes me want to hurl. Seriously. I loved and always will Noah’s Ark. It is fun and won’t make me puke. We are planning to take the kids soon and I would love to ride the Sky Rocket!

I’ve never been to Kennywood but my dad’s family in western PA (they live in New Castle, Cranberry, and a few other places around there) all love it.

Also, I have not been on a roller coaster anywhere since I was 18. That’s probably even MORE sad, huh?

What a cool giveaway! My husband and I used to go to Kennywood when we lived in Pittsburgh, but then we moved away in late 2003. *sad Jenn* Now that my daughter is almost seven and just a quarter of an inch shy of being able to ride almost everything, and my son isn’t far behind her, I would LOVE the chance to gather up my husband and kids and head out to Pittsburgh (we’re just a few hours away) and spend the weekend there!

With that said, my absolute FAVORITE ride at Kennywood is Phantom’s Revenge! It’s such a delicious rollercoaster. :D

My favorite ride is probably, um, well it has to be, uh, i’d have to say its the…there’s just so many! The kangaroo, the pittfall, all the roller coasters, the log jammer, and I loved the haunted hideaway before they messed with it and the la chalot (or wahtever it was called) before they got rid of it. Oh, and the whip is a fan favorite as well!

The Haunted Hideaway!! Was that you I rode on with some boys at one point? I don’t even remember who the boys were, is that bad? LOL That was the ‘tunnel of love’ ride ;) So sad that they turned it into some Garfield thing. I’ve never been on that one.

My absoloute favorite ride is the Exterminator!!! I absolutely LOVE it….of course I haven’t been on it in four years since, well, you understand! David’s favorite is the Log Jammer, he laughs the entire time and as soon as it is over he says, “Let’s do it again!” For this reason I forget all about not being able to go on my favorite ride!!! : )

I haven’t been there in so long, can’t wait to go back. I love the Thunderbolt, and the Racer, and can’t leave out the Jack Rabbit (my first roller coaster!) And if you win, you HAVE to go buy a new outfit for Kennywood Day, right?!?! :)

I haven’t been to Kennywood in over 10 years. If I think about it I can smell the potato patch fries. Would love to get back there with (FREE!) tickets!! I love the Jack Rabbit. And The Whip. And the Thunderbolt. And an easier question would have been which ride do I not love (Musik Express).

Oh man. I haven’t been an adult ride in years, either! I miss them. I haven’t even been on the new big one! I always liked the Thunderbolt. And even though I only did the sky coaster once, it has remained one of my best memories EVER.

I love the Jack Rabbit, I still remember the first time I rode it, and hiding my eyes at first–just peeking through a little at first.
My big sister took me on it and I was so excited and felt so grown up. I think I’ve ridden on it 500 times since then and it is still thrilling. Love Kennywood <3 it!

Roller coasters. Roller coasters. Oh, and roller coasters.

I haven’t been to Kennywood since Kate was about 18 months old. We didn’t ride coasters (because, hello, what would we do with the children) and I ran and ran and ran after Kate.

We’ve been doing Idlewild the past couple of years. That’s about our speed with the kids these days. So if I win these tickets? We might be taking a babysitter to watch the kids while we ride the roller coasters.

I like everything there is about Kennywood. I just moved my future fiancee and two kids from OH to the pittsburgh area and they have never been yet! This would be AWSOME as we just bought a house so money is tight :-)

Either way thanks for the oppurtunity!! I think it is GREAT what you are doing!!
