Lego KidsFest! comes to Pittsburgh

Any child of the 80s remembers LEGOS. I LOVED LEGOS. I still do. A few years ago, I spent like 4 hours on Christmas Day helping Dan’s cousin put together a LEGO airplane. Which he promptly “crashed”. And I maybe wanted to cry.

The point is, LEGOS are cool. And I’m so happy that Maggie enjoys them as much as I did when I was young. My mom saved our old school bin of teeny-tiny blocks and Maggie plays with them anytime we go to Grandma’s house. The big plastic green “grass” is her base, and she goes nuts building houses and castles and bridges. I love watching her use Imagination while she plays- she has a GREAT imagination, and LEGOS really bring that out.

Which is why when I heard that LEGO KidsFest was coming to Pittsburgh in June, AND I was offered a chance to host a giveaway on my blog? YOU BET I SAID YES.

A description of the event:

This hands-on, educational, all-ages LEGO extravaganza features billions of LEGO bricks – not to mention tons of construction zones, dozens of life-sized LEGO models and displays, LEGO Universe and LEGO Games, group builds such as Creation Nation and the Mystery Mural, live LEGO Master Builders, and so much more – in over 125,000 square feet of space.

LEGO KidsFest is being held June 17-19 at David L. Lawrence Convention Center. And you can win tickets! Stay tuned for details in upcoming weeks! (Maybe subscribe to my blog so you won’t miss it!)

Until then, dig out your bin of retro LEGOS and build something cool.

LEGOS, WOO! :) I’ll definitely be entering to win the tickets, although we’ll try to go either way. George has a mild LEGO obsession… “mild” meaning, his parents cannot even ship all his old LEGO sets from Hungary, because it would seriously cost hundreds of dollars. And Oliver has inherited his love of all things that involve building, so they play LEGOS together all the time–I’m not sure who has more fun… ;)

Chuckie is so into Legos! He even built a vending machine where you pull a lever and a small Lego shaped like a pop can comes down the center of it and out the bottom of the front. He subscribes to the Lego magazine and got a flyer for the Lego Kidsfest so this giveaway would be awesome to win!

    So cool!

There is a new Lego play place by South Hills Village called Snapology. They have a website. It’s for pre-k and up Legos and Robotics
They have hourly play, summer camps and parties.

(I haven’t been there…just passed the sign enough..and I work with preschoolers….to look it up)
