my blog in 2010

I don’t have a baby book for either one of my kids. Instead, I have my blog.

It might seem weird to some people that I share so much of our lives online, but it’s something I’ve been doing for over 10 years. And honestly, I like this method better. First of all, I am able to get feedback from other moms and dads about things going on in our lives- the good, the bad, and the hilarious. And in a baby book, you record the stats-type things: weight, first tooth, first steps, first words. Rarely does anyone keep track of the ridiculous behavior that kids exhibit in a baby book. And THAT is the stuff that I really want to remember in 20 years. Who cares when Maggie got her first tooth? I want to remember how she once fell asleep wearing socks for gloves.

So at the end of each year, I want to go back and read through my archives. And remember those moments. They grow up so fast. Both a blessing and a curse ;)

    What a great:
    — thing
    — way to track kids stories through life
    — reflection on the past year
    — callout of the best of the past year

    {for me: I need to blog more. The only reason being that I want to remember all these things, and I’m doing a horrible job of documenting it all!}
