Maggie snippets

She spins around the living room (usually wearing a dress or one of her princess outfits) and makes herself dizzy. She stops and says “WHOA! The house is falling!”

The only place we have child locks in the house is on our tv cabinet. And she recently learned how to open those (so Hello! DVDs spread all over the house!) One day last week, she was trying to open one of the locks but was having trouble. “AAARRRRRGH! Come ONNNN!” she yelled angrily.

When she was a baby, we sang Wheels on the Bus to her approximately 8,192 times a day. Or we listened to the CD with that song on it 7,209 times a day. And my mom has a CD of kid’s music that she plays for Maggie when we’re at her house, and apparently she (my mom) makes a huge deal when Wheels on the Bus comes on. Because in the car if we hear it, Maggie gets really excited and yells “THIS IS GRANDMA’S FAVORITE SONG! OH MY GOODNESS!”

A few days after Snowmageddon, she wanted to play outside. It was like NINE degrees out there, so naturally I told her we had to stay in, it was cold.

“But I LIKE cold!”

“Sweetie, this is really cold. DANGEROUS cold.”

“But I LIKE dangerous!”

This is probably typical for kids her age but: “Valentimes Day!” nearly killed me every time.

Apparently I’ve been whining a bit too much about my first trimester woes, because today she started walking around, saying “I’m so TIRED from this baby in my belly!”

    I love your last snippet. Be careful with what you say. After Zach was born Abby would go into daycare and tell them how her little brother ate Mommy. One day I went in to pick her up and her teacher asked if I was nursing because she was going around telling everyone how Zach eats Mommy.

    Every time Erin would yell “Happy Valentimes!” I couldn’t help but picture Rachel Dratch playing the drunk prostitute on 30 Rock.

    Fabulous! Every bit!

    I love “The house is falling!” and especially “Grandma’s favorite song” Ha! And I keep thinking “I LIKE dangerous” as spoken a little bit quietly, but intensely, with a little intense eye expression, kinda like “I laugh in the face of danger!” (Whoa, got a flash of the Lion King there… “Ha ha ha haaa.”)

    i think a video is required for the spinning stuff, i want to hear the WHOA in maggies voice…..gotta love maggie snippets

    the kid i babysit was always saying : Glühschwein instead of Glücksschwein, which means “glow(ing)pig” instead of luckypig (which is some sort of a symbol of luck that you can gift to someone on new years day, in chocolate or so, it is a pig with a four leaf clover ). that remindet me of the valentimes day :D

    If Grandma doesn’t get a whole CD of different renditions of “Wheels on the Bus” for her birthday this year, it will be a TRAVESTY. You have to make it happen!
