how we spent our Saturday

going outside in a t-shirt (A T-SHIRT! IN NOVEMBER!), taking down Halloween decorations.

cutting the grass (okay, that one was Dan.)

wrangling and calming down a cranky toddler. like eleventy billion times.

replacing the crappy ‘energy efficient’ light bulbs in our lights downstairs. (Sorry Earth, but a light bulb that DOESN’T BRIGHTEN THE ROOM AT ALL isn’t worth saving energy. Those light bulbs suuuuck.)

planning our Christmas light layout. That’s right- TOMORROW they go up. Don’t worry, we won’t be turning them on until after Thanksgiving. It’s just, Seventy Degrees Tomorrow! I’d much rather hang Christmas lights in the sunshine than in 30 degrees and snow. Which I’ve done before and it is not fun.

putting together my new entry bench, hanging my new shelf, and admiring the loveliness, knowing I got it all for 50% off. w00t! for!

entry bench!

taking a nap (okay, that one was Maggie.)

playing at the park with Grandma (that one was Maggie, too.)

making chicken scampi for dinner.

eating way too much chicken scampi for dinner.

not caring, because YUM! also: IT’S THE WEEKEND!

planning to crash on the couch for the rest of the night in 3… 2… 1…

Sounds like a satisfying Saturday! We also went out to enjoy the GREAT weather. I’m also toying with the idea of getting some lights out there tomorrow, but we are planning to go somewhere for half of the day, so we’ll see what happens.

    Chicken Scampi: Yum!

Sounds like a great Saturday to me! I love the little shelf and bench you got from JC Penny. They look great. Also, 50% off? AWESOMENESS!

Sounds like an awesome Saturday! I’ll take it! I adore that shelf and bench, by the way! I can’t wait until I have a house so I can buy things like that for it! I already maxed out my space in this tiny studio apartment!!

I totally agree that high efficiency light bulbs just don’t make the same light. Sorry earth!

I know. It’s blue or green or something, such a weird light, and SO DIM. Nearly all of the lighting fixtures in our new house had those bulbs and now that it’s getting dark earlier, I just couldn’t stand it anymore. Sorry Earth, is right ;) heh I recycle and turn lights off when we’re not using them, but I need to be able to actually SEE when the lights are turned on!

Totally coveting your bench. That is EXACTLY what we need. If we had JCPenny in Canada I’d be online right now looking for it.
