weekly winners, volume 13: VACATION EDITION! w00t!

Oh my Lord in Heaven, I have so much to talk about. But I’m still on Beach Time, so you’ll have to bear with me. I managed by some miracle to get (most of) our vacation pictures processed and uploaded tonight. It was a fantastic week, filled with lots of giggles and fun and sunshine and also a few funny and crazy stories:

My friend’s mom who was on the trip with us? Broke her ankle on Wednesday morning. She spent the rest of the week on crutches and confined to a chair, either in the living room or on the porch overlooking the pool. She is a trooper, that lady.

Our friend’s (Dan’s college roommate) dad who was on the trip with us? Tried to (accidentally!) intoxicate all of our kids by mixing them what he thought was an innocent fruity drink one afternoon. Turns out, he put TRIPLE SEC in it. He didn’t realize it wasn’t just a mixer, it actually has alcohol in it. Luckily all of this was discovered before Maggie drank her sippy-cup full. HA. Needless to say, he took some teasing about this for the rest of the week. Poor guy.

The Penguins won the Stanley Cup. If you’re a disgruntled Red Wings fan… well, I’m sorry. Quit yer whinin’ and accept that you lost. CITY OF CHAMPIONS, BABY.

And finally- FINALLY- and probably the most exciting and relieving news of the whole week: WE SOLD OUR HOUSE. The offer came in on Thursday morning, and after a counter-offer to our counter-offer, everything was agreed upon and we faxed the signed papers on Saturday morning. Inspections are pending, but other than that, it looks like we’ll be moving mid-August. WOOOO! (And yes, an entire post including pictures of the new place is pending! Just as soon as I finish the piles of sand-filled laundry!)
