why my mom is awesome

We went to my parents’ house for Mother’s Day on Sunday. My mom cooked us all a delicious dinner of homemade lasagna (yo, Mom- SEND ME THAT RECIPE. Thanks lady!), salad, and garlic bread (actually, I brought the garlic bread. I am such a contributor.) She also played with my kid while Dan and I sat around and did pretty much nothing for a few hours. It was super.

But more than that? SHE MADE ME A CARD. Of course, she immediately makes excuses and explains WHY she made me a card- she didn’t get a chance to buy a card at the store, etc etc- but honestly? This was way cooler anyway.

She printed it out from the internet. AND COLORED IT WITH CRAYONS.

And it has a personalized note inside!

My mom is awesome. So awesome, in fact, that I am NOT posting the picture I Photoshopped of her on Maggie’s sit-n-spin. Love you, Mom!!

  1. Aww… That card is WAY better than anything she could have bought. :)

  2. I just saw that on flickr and couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry. That is SO adorable and so much more personal than any store bought hallmark card. I love it!!

  3. So sweet… and I’m thinking we need a sit & spin toy here for Zoe. I never had one as a kid.

  4. I think that is a cool way to give someone a card! I love printing and coloring my own cards!
