weekly winners: volume 1

In case you haven’t heard (which if you haven’t, I’m shocked because I talked about it non-stop all last week! Kudos to you for managing to avoid it. heh.) I got my early 30th birthday present on Friday. And dude. It’s SUCH an awesome camera. Even Dan- who knows so little about picture-taking that it’s a miracle when anyone makes it into the shots he takes, you know, the ones that are mostly sky/ceiling- is impressed with what it does. The most amazing part is that my pictures are better already and I don’t even know what I’m doing with the thing! I’m basically just pointing and shooting and doing a little editing (though not much, because it’s THAT good, there’s not much that needs adjusting)

As a way to make use of all the pictures I’m gonna be taking (because you KNOW there will be lots!!) I’ve decided that I’m going to participate in Weekly Winners over at Sarcastic Mom. The concept is simple: each Sunday, I’ll be posting my favorite photos from the previous week.

  8. GREAT photos–glad you’re having so much fun with your new camera!

  9. Great shots! You are braver than I, putting pics of your kid on your blog. I posted ONE, with watermarks, and at that I hesitated for a while first. (In a while I’ll probably take it down.)

  11. @Meghan: ha yeah- we couldn’t find the other pink glove (it’s in the car, found it this morning!) but now she always wants one white and one pink. She thinks that’s how it’s supposed to be I guess :)

  12. Congratulations! Isn’t it amazing how much more fun it is to take photos with a decent camera? You click, it takes a photo. Snap!

  14. Wow that’s a sharp clear flower pic! I think My husband could shave with that leaf (or is it a piece of grass?) I got a Nikon D60 for Xmas and have been dying for something (other than dead winter landscape) to take pics of! The dog and cat are quite a bit camera shy! I need a zoom, though b/c Well, I WANT ONE!
