Miraculously, because apparently I did something REALLY GOOD this week, Maggie slept until 7:30 this morning. Which was really 8:30. And she went to bed last night (without a fight!) at 8:30. So count it up, baby. That’s 12 hours. I was so worried about how the time change was going to effect her, and it turns out that the only thing it did was make her tired earlier for her nap. Which makes NO SENSE AT ALL, but whatever. I’ll take it!

We went to church today for the first time since… Easter, I think? And Easter was the first time since last October. For the past year, Maggie’s nap was right smack in the middle of church-time, and we tried a few times to go anyway and just postpone her nap a bit but let me tell you, that did NOT work. Tears and screaming and just not happening. So we gave up and attended the church of St. Pillow instead. But in the last month or so, she has started napping in the afternoon, after her lunch, so we are finally able to start going again. We left her in the nursery while we were in the service, and she did okay. When we went to get her at the end of church, they said she cried for a while- I think because it’s a new place for her. Hopefully after a few weeks she’ll be used to it. You should SEE all the toys there- she really should have ball, it’s like a toy store!

After church it was lunch, then Maggie’s nap, then Dan and I headed outside to take care of our fall yard work that we’ve TOTALLY been procrastinating on. There was no Steeler football today (MNF tomorrow!) so we had the whole afternoon to ourselves… and we chose yard work. I know, how thrilling! Dan needed to cut the grass and I needed to cut back all of my flowers and plants before it snows (I KNOW. I SAID THE ‘S’ WORD. ARGH!) Unfortunately our lawn mower is broken at the moment and he wasn’t able to fix it… so the grass didn’t get cut. Sorry, neighbors, we suck! He did rake a lot of the leaves in the backyard while I worked on my flowers and stuff. Took us about 2 hours… I was so tired when we came back inside.

Part of my tiredness? A stupid cold. It started Thursday night, and then got worse because Maggie didn’t let us sleep that night and I was just exhausted. After a few days of resting and couple of good sleeps, I’m feeling mostly better- just very stuffy and tired if I do too much (like crawl around in the dirt for 2 hours cutting plants down!) I can’t believe it’s only November and we still have like 4 or 5 months of Cold Season to live through. Bring on the Airborne!

And I just re-read this post and MAN if you made it this far, you should seriously get a medal or something. How boring am I? I should totally get kicked out of NaBloPoMo for posting such a snoozer.

At least you were productive! My list of chores is piling and piling up and I’m not at all looking forward to starting them tomorrow. :(

@Priscilla: We figured today might be the last nice weekend day we get until March, so we should take advantage! I really didn’t feel like doing any yardwork today, but I’m glad we got it done :)

I’m learning the joys of the lingering cold between WoyGirl and the Circle of Germs that is created within our small family.

@Woy: Does she go to daycare yet? If not, you are lucky. It’s like a freaking Germ Festival there!!! But, I suppose it’s either now or later when Maggie starts school. I’m hoping this winter isn’t as bad as last winter (4am trip to the ER for an ear infection in Feb, hand-foot-and-mouth disease in April, plus a bunch of regular colds in between) now that she’s had a chance to build up some immunity. I hope WoyGirl stays healthy!!

I like reading your blog posts even if they are just talking about day to day stuff … your day sounds more fun than mine! I’d take just about anything besides homework, which is all I do these days…

It wasn’t boring. You underestimate yourself. Yesterday Neil and I spent all morning cleaning the house for his birthday get together. We did some yard work saturday and hopefully won’t have to do any more until spring. That’s a good thing about winter!
