introspective on my birthday


So today I turn 29. TWENTY. NINE. That sounds so… old. Like I’m a grownup or something.

When I was a kid, I remember hearing people say that they were 29 and thinking Wow, that sounds so adult and mature! I can’t wait to be that age! And now that I am 29? I certainly don’t feel it. I still feel like I’m in high school half the time, still 18 years old and having no clue about ANYTHING, heh. I have a house, a husband, a daughter, a business… but I’m still a kid, right?! Wait… what? Crap.

I guess that’s just how life is. You spend a lot of your time looking forward to being older, getting to the next phase in life, and suddenly you’re there and you’re all WHOA, HOW’D I GET HERE? Someone let me off this train!

Or maybe it’s just another day for candles and cake. Who knows? BUT I GOT PRESENTS. So yay!

    I was devastated to turn 29. 30 was fine, but 29 was a killer…. of course after 30, comes 31, and then 32…. and next year 33…. hmm…. so not good.

    But hey, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

    so so understand, how your feeling on this. I think that all the time, I feel young… and then same thing. I have been married almost 5 years, have a one year old, pregnant with #2 and own my business… think that makes me… and .. uh-hmm… adult.. NAHHHHHH?????? I wonder if our parents felt that way.
