just re-read it, and this post is positively thrilling. prepare yourself.

This past weekend was both busy and relaxing. An odd combination, but it works for me. Friday Dan was off from work (yay!) so we hung around the house, ‘loser-ing it up’ as we like to call it, and then that night we went to my parents’ house for my sister’s birthday party. She turned 26, welcome to your late 20s, old lady! hehe

Saturday we took Maggie to get her 1 year/Easter portraits. It’s been a while since we took her for pictures, so I wasn’t sure how it would go- she’s much more mobile now! But she did great, and the pictures are awesome. She is seriously the biggest ham ever.

Sunday was of course Easter. Not Maggie’s first Easter, but the first one where she isn’t able to actually fit into the basket, heh. We put together a basket for her with a few little things and put it over by her toys to see what she’d do. It didn’t take her long before she did a double-take, like ‘Hey, what’s that over there??’

Then it was off to my parents’ house for breakfast and church. Maggie slept on my mom back in the cry-room pretty much the whole time. After church we headed to Dan’s grandma’s to see his family. And of course Maggie refused to nap, so by the time we left there at 6:30 that night, she was exhausted. But, the girl had fun! She doesn’t EVER want to miss anything, that’s for sure.

Today was ‘mental catchup’ day for me. Lots of stuff to do this week! The usual laundry and grocery shopping, plus work stuff. But mainly I need to get things together for Maggie’s birthday party on Saturday. I’ve got my lists together and you all know that when I have my lists, I feel much better.

Maggie decided that she only needed 1 nap again today. She keeps going back and forth on 1 or 2 naps, like she can’t decide. For a few days, she’ll take 1 nap late, then for a few days 2 naps. Then 1 (short) nap early, like she did today, and then NOTHING for 7 hours. It was a Very. Long. Afternoon. When Dan got home, angels sang and butterflies danced and the sun shined. Another grown up in the house was just what I needed. I’m really hoping she gets her naps figured out. It’s starting to drive Mama nutty!

So, that was Easter. Plus today. I’m tired and going to bed now.

I, too protest! I will be 26 in just a matter of months. Do not scare me into believing I will already be in my late 20s!! :D

I love how she “discovered” what was hiding. :)

PS: I also like the background discussion about what year the Disney movies came out. He he…

napS are great. When the child turns one, napS turn into NAP and that is not so great :) Good luck on getting that one figured out, it took us forever with each girl to get into a good schedule when the “switch” from 2 naps daily to 1 nap started.
    Great video!
Thanks also for stopping by my “home” :)

Maggie is so cute, touching the Easter basket and then looking up to see if it’s ok to dig in! I was laughing about you guys discussing the year of the Disney movies too. :D

Transitioning to one nap really shifts the whole day’s schedule. But once she gets into her own pattern, it will be easier to know when you can plan things while she’s awake and when you’ll have a set time period to get things done while she naps.

It is so funny how you can see the moment she notices the basket and she looks back to make sure it’s okay to play with it.

She’s a cutie! Are you guys getting her a smash cake to eat on her birthday?! We did that with the kids and it was so funny…Jada had it everywhere and Chuckie didn’t want to touch it.

@Priscilla: Heck yeah we’re doing a smash cake! My mom is in charge of the cake so she was all over all that :) I’m pretty sure Maggie will dig right in- she’s never been very shy with food! (gets that from her Mama…!)
