It has been an interesting few days.

Yesterday we got a bit of a break from the Let’s Go To Grandma’s House! thing. I mean, I LIKE coming to my parents’ house, if there are OTHER GROWNUPS HERE. But it’s just me and Maggie. And since we’re not in a familiar environment, there are lots of things I don’t notice or realize will be interesting to her and I’m like No, don’t touch that! every 2.3 seconds. Like the basket of seashells on the end table. Or the computer power button that’s 2 inches from the floor. Or the telephone that’s *just* the right height for her little hands to reach. Or my mom’s cat who is not very friendly and VERY NOT amused that there is This Thing in Her House.

This morning within 2 minutes of being inside my parents’ house, Maggie got herself wedged between the two couches and couldn’t get out and GOOD LORD, THE SCREAMING. She also broke my mom’s crib she keeps here for Maggie’s naps. Yeah. I don’t know. I’ll post a picture later. It’s… graphic.

Like I said, we had a break yesterday, where Maggie went to daycare and got to terrorize THOSE ladies for a little while, and I drove 80 miles round trip for a client meeting. When I first got there, no one was around so I started worrying that my brain was really fried and it wasn’t even Wednesday (I may have called Dan just for verification. Maybe.) I also started thinking I drove all that way only to have to turn around and drive back and man I had to pee… but thankfully he showed up after 15 minutes and all was well (and, he called today to say he’s sending the contract and deposit, WOO!)

On the way home, I stopped to pick up our tax return from our accountant (because my brain is just too tired to figure out taxes when there is a business involved) I wasn’t too nervous that it would be as big of a shock as last year because I estimated more accurately this year (yay, I can do math! Or, rather, Excel can do my math for me!) but I was a little afraid to open it. BUT BOY AM I GLAD I DID. My jaw dropped open and I practically danced back to the car. Let’s just say that Dan’s student loan should be very afraid. Very, very afraid. Also: WE LOVE MAGGIE.

The floor at home is coming along nicely- it looks AWESOME so far and it was only half-way done last night, no grout or anything. But I already was making eyes at it and trying to make out with it. Which will hopefully make these 4 days of exile worth it. Tomorrow is another daycare-day for Maggie and I have another meeting and doctor’s appointment for myself (I’ve had this weird eyelid-rash thing going on for a few weeks and it’s not getting any better. I’m such a freak.) so at least that will make the day go faster.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go untangle Maggie from the cords under the desk here. And go find some tequila or something.

Your eyelid rash thing is not noticable because I didn’t see anything. Also, the crib? No match for Maggie it looked like something a grown man would do…not a sweet little girl!!!

This is why I love tax time! We have three kids!!! Three kids=buying a house sooner than we thought!!

@Priscilla: I had eye makeup on, so it covers it up a little bit. Plus it’s much worse in the morning after my shower- this morning it was all red and puffy! And it gets REALLY itchy. I’m thinking it might be eczema or something? I’m not using any new products and it’s just on that one spot. Very strange!

Hooray for buying a house sooner than you thought :)

Yay for the almost-done floor! And yay for our little tax deductions! :)

I hope your eyelid feels better! They’ll probably give you an ointment to use. If it’s some type of dermatitis, you may also need to toss your eye makeup (and not wear any for a few days while it heals), just to be on the safe side. (Sorry… my work alter ego takes over sometimes… hehe)

@Melissa: hehe Yes Doctor! haha Actually I’ve gone days without makeup in the last few weeks, and it didn’t seem to help unfortunately. That’s why I’m going to the dr because I don’t think it’s any products or anything causing it (though they might be irritating it) My appt is in 30 minutes so we’ll see!
