After 4 days of being in The Fog of The Sick, I think we’re finally emerging, mostly unscathed. Maggie still has a pretty nasty-sounding cough, but it’s a dry cough, and she’s sleeping pretty well again. Those antibiotics must have worked wonders already! She woke up once last night, but she only screamed in my face for about 10 minutes, so we’ll call that a successful night. The night before she slept from 10pm until I woke her up at 8 for daycare, so woohoo! We’re even going to try to go to the grocery store today. High goals, we have.
And now, I can finally look forward to the weekend. Because, you guys? DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND??!!?! Melissa and Stephanie are coming to my house!!!! OMG!!! Fur realz!!! I’ve been reading their blogs for… gosh, I don’t even know how long. Years! And now, we’re going to meet In Real Life. And their kids and husbands, too! I am like 90% excited and 20% nervous. Yes I realize that adds up to 110% but that’s okay because this occasion requires more than the normal amount of energy. I just can’t believe after all these months and years of emails back and forth, of these two girls being just part of my Google Reader, I will be seeing them in person. Of course, Dan still jokes that they’re really 40-year-old men, to which I say, don’t 40-year-old Internet Stalkers have better people to worry about than almost-30-year-old mothers? heh I’m not worried. And you know we will take lots of pictures as evidence that yes, in fact, we did all exist together, in one spot.
I really need to remember to Swiffer my floors before they come. After all the years of our Internet Friendships, I’d hate for them to come to my house and be tripped in the hallway by a CatHair Tumbleweed.
