anything to save me time

Time is not something I have very much of lately. It’s 11:01pm on Tuesday night, and I’m hurrying to write my blog post so I can still be a participant in NaBloPoMo. I haven’t read a single blog on my feedreader since last Thursday, nor have I viewed any Flickr photos. I have yet to put a single thing in my new cabinets that were installed a week and a half ago. And our house is in some serious need of child-proofing. The kid, she is Very Nearly Crawling. I’m drowning in work and laundry and taking care of Maggie. Right now, it’s One Day At A Time.

But, I wanted to share a link to a neat little program I found a couple of months ago. Actually, a family member told me about it, and I fell in love with it. It’s called FastStone Image Viewer, and it really does it all. I take lots of pictures (LOTS!) and usually I just upload them and share them as-is. I don’t have the time to open up Paint Shop Pro (or PhotoShop For Cheap People) go through and get rid of red-eye, change contrast and brightness, or crop out weird shapes on the outer edges, and then save the new files. So pretty much, what you see is what you get. Until lately! With FastStone, I can navigate full-screen through my pictures using the arrow keys, delete the crappy ones, edit red-eye, sharpen pictures, crop them, rotate- all on the fly. It is SWEET. And my pictures have never looked better- I spent some time today and got about halfway through our 120+ pictures from this weekend, in less than 15 minutes. woohoo!

(And no, I am not being paid for this post at all. In fact, FastStone is technically freeware, though I’m actually considering making a donation because I love the program so much.)

Basically, I just wanted to share the info with you all because I know a lot of you are like me: too many photos, and WAY too little time to deal with them.
