eruption

Ladies and gentlemen, we have had an eruption! Of a tooth! I can feel it! And see it- just the tip! But it is definitely, definitely through the gums. No pictures yet, because every time I try to look in her mouth, she either bites my fingers or licks my hand.

It’s funny, because I kept waiting for this horrific night of screaming and a fever and then a tooth. But it came very quietly. VERY SLOWLY (since August…) so last night when I first noticed it, and this morning when it was much more obvious, I was a little surprised. So what’s worse? One night of misery, or 3 1/2 months of mild to moderate crankiness and drool? I’m still not sure.

I’ll keep you posted on ToothWatch 2007! Because I know you’re all on the edge of your seats.

oh, i think I’d take one night of misery! I slept in the lazyboy with Maria on Friday night. Sunday, I could totally feel it. We’ll see tonight how it’s progressing, since I left for work before she was up this morning! (She went to bed at 7 and was not up at 6:45 yet!)

Teeth are sneaky, sneaky little things.

Yay for Maggie’s first tooth! :) Teeth are quite the little buggers, but they do lead to Very Awesome Things, like cheese! and chicken! and baby’s 1st birthday cake! (although, I KNOW, that’s coming up way faster than you imagined…)

@Melissa: oh you aren’t kidding! I was just thinking tonight about how she’s closer to being 1 year old than being born. FREAKED ME OUT. She’s turning into such a little kid, and not so much a baby anymore…..

We are in the same boat at my house. We noticed on Weds. night that she cut her first teeth (two razor-sharp little white lines in her lower gums) … and it was the same as your little one … loads of agony spread out over months (though in spurts of 2-3 days, usually) and then no fuss, the teeth just popped up. What a weird thing.

Whoo hoo! Finally! Congrats. We just got our SECOND tooth around here. Word on the streets is that the teeth come in twos, but once you get two you get a two to three month break. (This is the word from the same doctor who claimed Lily was getting a tooth any day and then it took two months to come!)
