Every Thanksgiving, we must pause and think about the things we are most grateful for in our lives. So here is my list.
I am thankful for my beautiful, wonderful, healthy baby girl. That goes without saying. Not only am I thankful for her, but I am thankful for being able to experience being a mom. I have some friends right now who have been dealing with infertility and it is heartbreaking. I am truly in awe of the fact that I was given this gift and allowed to participate in motherhood.
I am thankful for my husband. He has worked so hard this year, starting a new and very demanding job, and he has also been an incredible daddy to Maggie. He is extremely helpful around the house when he’s not working. And he never complains when I make him watch Gilmore Girl reruns nearly every night during dinner, even though I’ve seen them all about 5,684 times.
I am thankful for being able to do a job that I love. Most of the time, while I’m working, it honestly doesn’t even feel like work. Sure, I complain about not having enough time to do my work, but I suppose that’s a common problem with everyone. When I do sit down to work, I’m in geek-heaven and I love it. Plus I get to wear my pajamas and stay home with my baby. Win, Win, Win.
I am thankful for my DVR. Yes, I’ll admit it. I know it’s a shallow thing to be thankful for, but I am. Without it, I would never watch any shows on a regular basis. And I love me some Office and Grey’s Anatomy. But with a baby and a business? There are interruptions. Pausing live tv is a miracle.
I am thankful that I no longer have a student loan. WOO!
I am thankful for our families. I honestly don’t know anyone else who enjoys BOTH sides of the family. We both get along with our in-laws, and we even have fun with our families! When we all get together, we’re always laughing and joking and picking on each other, but it’s all love. Our parents are wonderful, supportive, and non-meddling. The perfect combination!
And finally, I am thankful for The Internet. Because otherwise, I would have no job. And also, I wouldn’t have gotten to know some awesome people :)
