just… everything.

Okay, one topic per paragraph. Let’s go!

Last week I did some sort of physical activity each day, some specifically for exercise purposes and some were just things I did that had a nice side effect of exercise. Monday, my mom and I spent a few hours outside, with Maggie in her bouncy seat, and planted 5 bushes and moved a bazillion plants around. Digging is great for your abs, did you know that? I didn’t… until the next day. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday I went for walks in the neighborhood with Maggie in the Baby Bjorn. Wednesday and Saturday, I did Pilates (again with the soreness!!!) Saturday, Dan and I spent 4 1/2 hours spreading bark mulch and edging the flower beds. And finally yesterday, I walked 2 1/2 miles with my mom. Whew! I’m tired.

Maggie is smiling more every day. First thing this morning when I went to get her from her crib, she was crying and fussing. When she saw me and I said ‘Good morning, Sunshine!’ she grinned at me. !!!!

And yes, I said crib up there in that last paragraph. Last night was the first night she slept in her bedroom alone. She’s been sleeping next to me in our bedroom in her bassinet. But I thought it was time to try out her crib, partly because she’s getting a little bigger and a little older, and partly because she MAKES SO MUCH NOISE AT NIGHT. Seriously. She’s asleep when she does it, but she’s always squeaking or moaning or grunting or something. And it was starting to make it tougher for me to get back to sleep in between feedings! It was a successful move, except that I had to change her sleeper at 6am because she decided to puke all over it and was completely soaked.

I didn’t tell you all what Dan (or actually I guess Maggie!) got me for Mother’s Day: a 3 1/2 hour spa package!!! I get a Swedish massage, facial, manicure, pedicure, and hand wax treatment. I haven’t scheduled it yet, but I am soooo looking forward to it. After 9 months of pregnancy, labor, and 8 weeks of being a new mom, I totally need it.

We went on a ‘family date’ on Saturday night to Red Robin. Dan thought I was tricking him when I told him excitedly that the A-1 Peppercorn Burger was back on the menu (he was devastated when they took it off for for some reason) I had to physically hold up the menu to his face before he’d believe me. Maggie completed the evening by projectile vomiting all over herself, her carseat, and a little bit on Dan. It was a great time.

Remember when I was talking about how I was getting pressure to come back to work early? Call me a sucker, but I’m having a meeting about it tomorrow. I KNOW! But I’m taking Maggie and it’s all good, and really I just need to have a homepage design finished by the middle of June. Totally doable, I think.

A year ago today, we arrived home from our Italy trip.

Today is housecleaning day. Or at least, I’m going to try while Maggie takes naps. Wish me luck!

Pris: yeah, we’re getting there :) She’s such a good baby so she makes it pretty easy for us (most of the time!)

This is the perfect time to do all that kind of stuff, while she’s laying still. It doesn’t last long! I’m sure you’re both enjoying the outdoor time. And it’s so sweet that she’s smiling more for you. :)

I just had a one-hour facial and a one-hour massage for my Mothers Day gift (my husband got a one-hour foot soak/massage/etc, and then he was in the room with me for his own one-hour body massage… that’s his early Fathers Day gift) and it was HEAVENLY. I’m sure you’ll love your spa day! It’s a great gift and you’ve definitely earned it! If you ask me, Mothers Day should really come more than once a year. ;)

I must have missed your work-pressure post (I’ve been a bit busy myself lately) – anyway, I’m finding that I’m doing most of my client work between the hours of 10pm and 4am. I don’t know how that schedule would suit you when you get back to work, but if Maggie gives you some LOOONG stretches of sleep periods, it’s a good time to make some dough… and if you can do most (if not all) of it during that period, you won’t need to pay for childcare!

Hopefully though, we both get busy enough that having someone in-home for a few hours would be a good idea (cuz hey – if we get to that point then we know we’re doing well!).

Just thought I’d share. Congrats on the PA! :)
