all baby, all the time

Lots of baby and pregnancy-related stuff in the past few days! First, on Thursday I went to have my glucose screening. Overall it wasn’t too bad, except I was so tired right after I drank the orange sugary stuff. I seriously could have laid down and taken a nap right there in the waiting room, but I didn’t want to freak anyone out. So I pretended to read while pretty much sleeping with my eyes open for about 15 minutes. Then that wore off and before I knew it, it was time for the blood draw and it was over! I’m just hoping hoping hoping that I pass- one hour was fine, but I really don’t want to go through the 3 hour test.

Then last night, we had a hot date. At Babies R Us! We finished our registry finally! (we have another one at Target, but it only has a few things on it, just in case someone coming to the shower doesn’t live near a Babies R Us for some reason) We had a bit of a start, but hadn’t made any final decisions on anything other than our stroller/travel system thing. I feel so much better now knowing we’re done with all that- all I have to do now is wait for my shower date to come (February 25!) and see what people buy for us :) I’m sure we won’t get everything on the list but it will at least give us a decent beginning.

We (or rather, Dan and his dad) picked up the crib on Wednesday. We haven’t put it together yet because the room isn’t ready, so it’s waiting quietly in our garage until we’re ready. I also finished the baby’s dressers earlier in the week- complete with new knobs and everything! They look awesome (pictures to come once the room is all finished- right now the dressers are squished in the middle of the room for painting)

Painting- which I started today! I can only manage to do the bottom part of the wall because I can sit my fat butt on the floor and be relatively comfortable (except now that I’ve finished for the day, I am so tired and my back is really sore. blah) We’re painting the bottom portion of the wall a different color than the top and putting in a chair rail, so it works out well. My mom is going to come to help me finish, hopefully in the next week or so… we’ll see how things go with getting the trim cut and painted first. But it shouldn’t be too much longer now! At least I hope not… because every day it gets harder and harder to do things around the house…

Which brings me to brag about my dear, sweet, awesome husband. Who not only vacuumed the entire house today, but also the couches, AND he cleaned the tub for me. I just need to get him to Swiffer the floors now, and I can do the dusting, the sinks, and the toilets and the house will be clean! I love my husband for doing those things for me… and he did them without complaining. I think watching me moan and hunch over after 10 minutes of trying to vacuum the last time made him realize he needed to help me, heh. He’s the best!

So now for the rest of the night, I’m doing NOTHING. Tomorrow we’re going to Ohio to visit some family for a belated holiday get-together so I need to rest up, otherwise I won’t be much of a guest!

Yay for baby things! :) Can’t wait to see the room and all the stuff you’re working on–it will be so pretty. I bet your mom is getting almost as excited as you are for this little girl to arrive!

It’s funny how much faster OTHER people’s pregnancies seem to go than your own… hehe.

Didn’t know you were pregnant. Woohoo!! Congrats! Good luck with your glucose test. I didn’t pass the 1hr test and had to do the 3hr. Blah! It wasn’t bad, but I was extremely sleepy too. Apparently it’s common because the lab had a room with a bed for us mommies to lay down in.
