ignore the rambling, I’m kind of tired.

Yeah so I know I’m like totally behind on my Italy updates. I only made it to Day 2 so far. I’ll get there.. just be patient! I need to savor it and draw it out as long as possible.
I’m still trying to get back into the insane swing of things with work and my freelance clients and cleaning my house and getting organized and life and family and all the other stuff that seems to suck up my time. Vacations are fantastic, obviously… but sometimes I come back from them and think, Maybe it would have been easier to just stay here and keep going and let momentum carry me through the days. Then I slap myself silly for having such disgusting thoughts. And I let myself drift back to those blissful 7 days when we were walking around Rome and eating fabulous food and seeing famous sites and ancient ruins I only ever thought I’d see in books and on the internet and not doing anything much other than being together. Yeah. That’s why we go on vacations. To get away from all of this.
In other news, this weekend we got our new couch delivered (one of the ways I mentally softened the blow of coming home from vacation, I knew I would be getting new furniture soon after.. eee! I’m like a little kid.) It’s a sectional with a recliner on each end. Dude we are so in HEAVEN. It’s comfy and I love the color, and it’s only costing us $30/month.. for the next 4 years, but it’s free financing man! You can’t pass deals like that up! And I got matching pillows! Four of them! I never thought I’d have a couch with pillows that came with it. I’m so fancy! We’ve lived in our house for 2 years and still didn’t have furniture down in our nicely finished basement. So the new stuff is upstairs and we moved our old (but still very nice) couch and loveseat to the basement for the kitties to rub on and get their fur stuck in the fabric even more. Lovely.
So of course we had to rearrange the living room last night. Unplugging all of the tv/DVD/Xbox/DirectTV lines and then having fun putting it all back together. The cable lines naturally didn’t reach to where we wanted them to go, so Dan headed to Lowes over the weekend to buy some new cable and adapters and then got mad when he tried to put the little ends on with the EZ Tool or whatever and it didn’t work. He was totally talking to himself and it was pretty funny. But now our TV is moved and works and we can play XBox and watch tv laying down straight instead of all crooked and twisted and it’s AWESOME.
I will obviously have pictures as soon as I remember to do so.
I’m feeling very rambly today, but I don’t have much to say. Is in lunchtime yet?

That’s so cool!! I need some new couches so bad that it’s sickening. We’ve got 70s couches from K’s parents… from the 70s. Heh. Post pictures when they come!

Yeah, I hear ya. I really just don’t have much to say either. I’m in a slump…writing-wise and don’t really feel like even coming out of it!
I still look forward to reading about the Italy trip though. Hooray for the new furniture!
