night of misery

Apparently whatever that sickness was I had on Wednesday was just a preview. I was up most of last night, throwing up, having the shakes and the chills and sweats, and basically JUST FEELING LIKE I WAS IN HELL. I broke my streak of not throwing up since I was 15… that’s 12 years. It is no more…
At first I worried it was something I ate. We had been at my parents’ house for my birthday dinner (my birthday isn’t until Friday but we had my dinner early because of Easter) I chose lasagna, salad, and garlic bread for the meal, and it was delicious. So I was afraid something had made me sick! But as of this afternoon, nobody else is sick, so it must just be either a new virus or the same one from Wednesday that went, regrouped, and came back to kick my ass.
I was finally able to keep water down around 10AM this morning. Then I slept for a few hours and ate some crackers (v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y) And I just had some soup…. I need to eat SOMETHING because everytime I stand up, I get dizzy and feel like I’m going to pass out. It’s really fun. Or not.
If this entry is all over the place and rambling, it’s because my brain is fried. I am so freaking tired I can’t even explain it. I feel like someone took my insides out, scrambled them, and put them back in me. And then they did the same thing to my brain. Even my skin hurts.
Dan has been a super nurse, taking great care of me. He brings me water when I need it, he brought me the laptop so I could check my email, he even emptied the kitty litter today, which he has NEVER done before. He was worried about me last night when I couldn’t stop shaking, he wanted to take me to the hospital. A bit of an over-reaction, but it’s nice to know he worries :)
Okay, I’m going to try to get some more rest. I would really like to be able to go to work tomorrow since I used a sick day last Wednesday.. but I’m going to have to rest up and be able to eat something more than a few spoonfulls of soup and be able to stand up without wanting to pass out first, I think.
At least it wasn’t REALLY my birthday yet. Hopefully I can kick this by Friday!

I had the same thing back in February. I was all happy because I never threw up at all from the pregnancy, but then the flu totally body-slammed me for a couple days. Get better so you can party on your birthday! :)

Oh dear. I had something really bad (that sounds a lot like what you had) last weekend. Bleh. Throwing up = the grossest thing EVER.

Yeah I haven’t thrown up from being sick since I was a little kid…like elementary school age. I mean I’ve thrown up from drinking too much but not from being genuinely sick! Hope tonight and tomorrow go better for you.
