brain boil

Filed Under: life, she's a weird one

Yesterday I had a weird stomach bug that kept me home from work. It started Tuesday night and didn’t really end until around lunchtime today. It was complete with fun trips to the bathroom, chills/sweats, and a horrible headache. AND SO TIRED. And now… I have period cramps. Let me tell ya, I feel AWESOME right about now.

I spent about 8 hours on the couch yesterday, playing XBOX. You may laugh at that, but when there is nothing on tv to watch, that’s what I am forced to do. I felt like SUCH A LOSER. EIGHT HOURS. I only got up to use the bathroom (which happened quite frequently, given the nature of my sickness. heh.) I tried to take a nap, but couldn’t get comfortable. So back to the XBOX. Then I tried to get some work done on a few client projects while I was at home, but all I could do was stare at the computer screen for 10 minutes before wandering back to the couch. And the XBOX. Yeah. I’m totally cool.

I think my brain was being cooked or something from all the chills and hot spells I kept having. I made myself some plain pasta noodles for dinner (I can only eat soup once a day while I’m sick without feeling like an invalid, and I had already had some for lunch) I had the pepper grinder/salt shaker on the tv tray with me: it’s a combo thing, with the salt in the top and the fresh pepper grinder on the bottom. I was looking at the cool colors of the pepper and decided it would be a good idea to pick it up and turn it over and back, over and back, mesmerized by the black/red/white balls swirling around, totally not realizing I was DUMPING SALT ALL OVER THE TRAY AND ONTO THE FLOOR. Dan was of course watching the whole thing, wondering if I’d gone crazy.

I think I had. Or am. Or something.
