I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas yesterday! We didn’t have a white Christmas.. more of a gray, chilly, rainy one… but it was still a great day. I know I’m getting older when I get way more excited now about giving people gifts than I do about what I get (though it is cool to get great gifts!)
It always seems like the day after all of the eating and gift-giving and laughing and unwrapping and laughing and eating, I feel hungover and just want to CHILL. This year is especially strange. I’m used to trying to take an official ‘day off’ after Christmas (or even more than 1 day off) where you use those last few vacation days before the end of the year, otherwise you lose them. But now, being self-employed, I’m the one who gets to dictate my time off: a strange and awesome power to have! So I checked my email this morning, did a tiny bit of work.. but now all I want to do is figure out how to get our pictures and music shared on our XBox/PC/Laptop network Dan configured last week, eat some cookies, lay around in my pajamas, and figure out what to buy with all of my newly-acquired Christmas gift cards (plus an extremely generous Christmas bonus I received from one of the guys I do contract work for! woohoo!)
Instead, this afternoon I’ll be heading to my parents’ house to help them set up their new computer (us ‘kids’ (my sister, her husband, Dan and me) all went together and got them a new one for Christmas!) and then I think we’re all going bowling. Yeah, should be fun! (though I’ll probably sit out on the bowling thing and just visit, since I’m all baby belly and can hardly lift my purse sometimes without my back going out)
Happy Day After Christmas!
PS: Our daughter isn’t even born for 3 more months, and she already got a bunch of Christmas presents. Can you say SPOILED?!? :)
