So we can add ‘Cream of Wheat’ to the list of things my cats will eat (in addition to used Q-tips, string cheese wrappers, and rubber bands).
We got home from our ‘date’ last night (dinner at Lone Star and shopping for some new work clothes for Dan) to find a bit of destruction in our kitchen. Both of our cats have long been interested in our kitchen cabinets, sticking their little paws behind the doors and trying to open them. But, since they a) lack opposable thumbs and b) have brains the size of a pea, they never could quite get the doors all the way open. They’d just make lots of noise by banging the doors open shut, open shut over and over again.
Well, apparently last night they figured out how to get the pantry door open. And pull out a box of Cream of Wheat packets. And open 2 of the packets. And lick the powder off the floor.
I hesitate to say this because I know that kids and cats are completely different things, but between the poo on the steps the other night and now this (plus the various other things these two 4-legged devils have done), I really think kids will be a breeze. And at the very least, we’ll be prepared for whatever our kids do.
