good points

Benefit to learning yesterday that I haven’t gained a single, solitary pound in the first 16 weeks of my pregnancy?

Feeling no guilt about eating 2 1/2 breadsticks at the Olive Garden last night, and ‘drinking’ the barbecue Pringles crumbs from the can just now. HA!

Ha! Isn’t that weird how that happens? You have this growing belly, you are growing out of clothes that once fit and yet, no weight gain. Always amazed by that!

Check it out! That little turd is like such a hungry creature…! Plus, it’s obviously in tune with it’s mommy and loves her loads already! Just think… you might even give birth and LOSE weight…Wow, i’m dreaming for you…! Although, even if you were to end up 15lbs heavier after the birth that would still be fantastic! REMEMBER… it takes nine months to make a baby, and nine months to lose it! Are you using cocoa butter cream? I am paranoid about stretch marks… apparently, it’s supposed to work wonders!

  • how is that possible? I am not even pregnant but if I merely WHISPER the word “pringle” I will gain at least 3.5 lbs. So not kidding.

I really do think that the cocoa butter cream stuff helps but it won’t prevent all stretch marks. I wouldnt’ worry too much about the stretch marks….they will be your battle scars. And someday, you will be proud of them.

  • I have a friend that lives in your town in Pa. Cool maybe you know her Cathy Whitaker.

  • Wow, you are SO lucky! :) When I think back on all the working out and stressing out and watching what I ate and crying about it, and yet I STILL gained 51 lb, I feel like I never really got to enjoy my pregnancy… and that sucked. So take advantage! In fact, have some bread for me, too!!! :)

P.S. Creams and such will moisturize the skin, which helps the itching, but nothing prevents stretch marks. I used tons of cocoa butter or shea butter every night, and I stayed fairly small throughout my pregnancy, yet I still got horrible stretch marks. Thankfully they’re fading pretty fast. But once again–worth it. :)

  • You are VERY lucky to not have gained too much. :) I’ll never figure that one out, though. My pregnant friend actually LOST 5 lbs the first couple of months of her pregnancy (she was sooo nauseated the whole time…she ate when she needed to, but didn’t eat as much as normal….).

I lost about five pounds as well when I was first pregnant, it’s something weird that happens to some people. I wasn’t sick or anything so it wasn’t due to throwing up. My doctor said it just happens, but not to everyone.

  • Congrats on no weight loss — that’s great! I, on the other hand gained like 12lbs the first trimester. Ugh! But, the 2nd trimester I slowed down a bunch. It all evens out at the end.

Oh, and cocoa butter is great to moisturize stretching, itchy skin, but NOTHING prevents stretch marks. In fact, my doctor said in MOST cases if your Mom had stretch marks so will you — not always, but most of the time. So, go call your Mom! :)

Either way, they’re worth it — and badges of honor in my opinion. The LAST thing you’ll be sad about after the baby is here is the stretch marks. Well, atleast that’s how it should be :) And I had horrible ones!
