reason #457 why our marriage works

Dan (suspiciously, because he likes to make jokes about how I never cook dinner for him): Why are you thawing out chicken?

Jen: Because I was going to take a poop on it and give it you for dinner.

Dan: AW-RIIIGHT! How did you know that’s what I wanted today?!?!

It’s not that I never cook dinner.. just rarely :) I hardly ever did while I was working full time and doing freelance work (time was just not there!) but I’m trying to get into the habit now that I’m home all day working. He says he truly doesn’t mind if I don’t cook every night, but of course it’s become a big joke in the house. On Monday there were chicken enchiladas in the oven when he got home from work, so naturally he had to make a big dramatic scene about it. And then yesterday I made a new chicken casserole and it was the same thing :P He thinks he’s funny… hehe

You are so not alone. When I was working full time, the requirement in my house was 1. whoever gets home first cooks dinner 2. whoever works nearest to the supermarkey buys the groceries… Tom works IN Asda as an engineer and always got home around an hour before me… PERFECT! Now, I am just a bit of skiver Student again, and have to total of ten hours classes a week – it’s down to me! I have to admit I don’t like cooking. I get too stressed and if it weren’t for having a hungry man to find I wouldn’t bother eating or cooking at all! Don’t you think that the food you cook yourself never tastes as good as when someone else does it for you?
