weekend in review (snore)

I spent all day Friday and parts of Saturday and Sunday cleaning out all of our JUNK from our 2 extra bedrooms. We’re getting new carpet installed on Wednesday (hurray for getting rid of the 25 year old nasty carpet!) and I still have no idea where we’re going to move everything while they’re working. But, at least I was able to organize what we have into piles of ‘keep’, ‘give away/sell’, and ‘throw out’. Kind of my own version of that show Clean Sweep, except it was just me sweating buckets without the chipper host of the show and I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen 4-legged ‘helpers’ on the show (if by helping you mean kitties climbing in and on every single thing I pulled out of the closets and trying to eat the garbage bags). And I didn’t have a professional designer come into my house to redecorate the 2 rooms. But other than that, just like it.

So yeah, that’s how I spent my day off from work. What fun!

Yesterday was more of the same, this time with Dan helping and me burning out quite early. Instead I crashed on the couch before heading to his parents’ for dinner and to see Pirates of the Caribbean (quite good, very entertaining)

Today I made zucchini bread! I baked! In the kitchen! For no particular reason other than I had a zucchini in my fridge the size of my leg and wanted to use it before it went bad. It made me feel quite like a domestic goddess (even if it is an insanely easy thing to make)

Then there was more cleaning and organizing (yeah, I know you TOTALLY wish you could have spent the weekend with me, what with all of the incredible excitement and entertainment!) This time it was the computer desk and papers. I really don’t think our poor desk is going to survive another move, even just to the dining room temporarily. It’s just a cheap thing we bought when we got married, and it already moved once from our apartment to the house. So I might just be doing all my work on the floor for a while if it doesn’t make it and we don’t get a new one right away! But at least I got all of our office supplies and stuff packed in grocery bags that can be easily moved into the dining room on Wednesday. Once the carpet is installed and we get things back in the room, I’ll be going through everything and REALLY cleaning house- especially if we get a new desk. But we shall see!

Okay! If you made it through this horribly boring post about my weekend, congrats! Really though I did have a nice weekend, despite all the working. We watched a couple of movies, visited with both of our families, and I got caught up on some freelance work that I needed to do.

   yummm I love Z bread! and it’s “healthy” right? And that is one cute kitty shot :)
