Very strange. I was done with my work tonight by 7:30 (this is after being at ‘work’ all day of course). It felt… wrong. I didn’t know what to do with myself! So Dan and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather we’re having this week (low 70s and sunny- FABULOUS!) and take a walk. It feels like we hardly ever get to spend quality time together anymore. And when we do, it’s always with 50 thousand other people around (okay maybe not that many) But it was nice :) Then I spent about 30 mins outside before it got too dark to see, pulling weeds and trimming back flowers and plants outside in the yard. I have neglected our ‘landscaping’ (if you can call it that!) way too much this summer. This fall we need to do some heavy-duty work, replenishing the dry, unhealthy dirt in the beds with mushroom manure or something. I can’t get stuff to grow, and the things that do grow look pretty bad because the dirt is so horrible. So hopefully next year I’ll have a nice, beautiful flower garden!

We also need to finish painting our deck. I finished the railings last weekend with my mom, but now we have to do the floors and support beams. Dan and I stopped and bought paint yesterday, but of course we haven’t gotten around to actually starting yet. This Saturday has been declared ‘Painting Day’. Hopefully we can get most of it done then (as long as it doesn’t rain on us!)

And now I must go and continue my night of home-making and sew buttons back on a pair of my pants.

oh I know- a friend of mine from my old job just moved back to Sydney and they bought a house- for a staggering $300k!!! She couldn’t believe it… but they have 2 kids and need the room. But yeah, she said it’s pretty ridiculous. Makes me realize that the prices where I live aren’t too bad (even though we thought they were!)
